Meet Mitha

Hi, I'm Mitha—a yoga teacher with over 15 years of experience, a psychology graduate, and a passionate believer in the power of mindful movement.

 

My roots are deeply grounded in India, where I grew up immersed in its rich traditions. Today, I call Melbourne home, and I love blending the essence of Indian yoga philosophy with a modern, heart-centred approach to create meaningful experiences for my students.


With a master's degree in psychology and years of experience working in education, I bring a unique understanding of the mind-body connection to my classes. Alongside teaching yoga, I work in a primary school supporting children with special needs, a role that has taught me patience, compassion, and the incredible resilience of the human spirit. These values deeply influence how I hold space for my students on the mat- with empathy, understanding, and care.


Yoga for me is not just about flexibility or strength; it's about awareness, balance, and creating space for inner stillness. I'm especially passionate about sharing the cognitive and emotional benefits of yoga, helping people experience clarity, focus, and calm through their practice.


When I'm not on the mat or in the classroom, you'll find me enjoying a good cup of chai, indulging in a piece of chocolate, or spending time with my husband and daughter. My dream is to build a warm and inclusive community where everyone feels supported and inspired to fall in love with yoga.

I specialise in incorporating pranayama techniques to enhance students’ breathing skills.

I focus on savasana, promoting relaxation and stress relief in every session.

Meditation

I strive to cultivate a calming environment in every session. Whether you’re new to meditation or seeking to deepen your practice, I invite you to explore the power of stillness with me.

Casual classes are priced at $25 per session.

Pricing Plans

$200 for a 10-class pass, valid over three months.

private sessions

Personalised sessions are also available at $75 per hour, focusing on individual needs and goals.

Mitha is completely dedicated to the spiritual practice of yoga and enjoys sharing this with others. Her classes are invigorating yet leave you with a sense of peace and tranquility.

Mitha is an exceptional teacher. Her empathy and genuine intent for all to achieve more makes even a group class feel like a one on one session. So grateful these classes are now also on zoom.

I leave Mitha's classes both relaxed and full of positive energy. Her expert knowledge of body movement, techniques to increase flexibility and the variety of movements makes every class enjoyable.

A lovely balanced class. Mitha instructs beautifully - so well in fact I only need listen and can close my eyes and get more out of the practice. 🙏
